Former U.S. Bancorp executive joins Carlyle
Former U.S. Bancorp executive David Moffett has joined Carlyle Group as a senior adviser. Moffett was named senior adviser at the Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm. He will be part of a recently formed global financial services group. Prior to his new position, Moffett served as chief financial officer of Minneapolis-based U.S.Bancorp and its predecessors, including Milwaukee-based Firstar Corp. prior to Firstar's 2001 acquisition of U.S. Bancorp., and with Star Banc Corp., the Cincinnati bank that bought Firstar in 1998.
Brantley Partners acquires Flash Global Logistics
Private equity organization Brantley Partners, in conjunction with HSBC and AIG, has announced its recent acquisition of Flash Global Logistics. The Flash acquisition will aid Brantley Partners in its investment philosophy of partnering with management teams committed to creating major enterprises via investments in their organizations. Flash Global Logistics provides single source logistics solutions to Fortune 100 companies engaged in various high technology and equipment manufacturing fields. Brantley, with offices in Ohio and California, has approximately $400 million of committed capital under management. The company has been a leading investor in over 40 privately held companies throughout the United States.
Thompson joins First Republic Bank
First Republic Bank, a leading provider of wealth management, private banking, and
private business banking services, has appointed Susan A. Thompson as its Senior Relationship Manager. Thompson is a mortgage professional with more than 20 years of experience serving high net worth clients. She will now work with First Republic clients to provide private banking, investment banking, and residential real estate lending at the Bank's office at 111 Pine Street in San Francisco. First Republic Bank is an NYSE-traded private bank and wealth management firm.
