Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst works with Actuary, MRA, Corporate Finance, Clinical and Market Point internally and Providers/Hospitals/Ancillary externally to drive optimization inclusive of activities spanning decisions required for day-to-day operations to strategic planning and addressing specific business performance issues across matrixed organization and fostering key relationships with business stakeholders. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
A successful candidate will possess:
Strong analytical ability with a keen eye for the details
Distill complex financial and non-financial data into concise presentable information that will drive managerial decision making
Experience extracting raw data from multiple databases and efficiently summarize that data is a must
Good working knowledge of SQL programming and intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, charts/graphs, etc.)
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and thrives in a strong team oriented environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize daily workload and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
1 years of experience in finance/accounting or data analytics
Intermediate MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Charts, Graphs)
Solid understanding of basic financial concepts such as revenue, expenses, costs, etc.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with teammates
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Finance or Analytics
SQL and SAS programming experience
Experience building Tableau and/or PowerBI dashboards
Excel based reporting tool building with some experience in VBA
Exposure to healthcare either from the provider or payer side
Understanding of the Medicare Advantage program: risk adjustment, HEDIS measures, and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Shared Savings program.
Additional Information
This position will need to be EST hours.
Work at Home/Remote Requirements Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a workspace (Satellite and Hotspots are prohibited). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) for optimal performance is required.
