The Senior Finance Analyst collects, analyzes and reports on various market data to connect financial outcomes with operational effectiveness. The Senior Finance Analyst work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Market Finance Analyst works with Actuary, MRA, Corporate Finance, Clinical and Market Point internally and Providers/Hospitals/Ancillary externally to drive optimization inclusive of activities spanning decisions required for day-to-day operations to strategic planning and addressing specific business performance issues across matrixed organization and fostering key relationships with business stakeholders. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Focuses on healthcare financial and utilization trend analysis

Research and Analysis of Regional P&L and key drivers analysis

Management reporting

Develops and supports tools for market drivers analysis

Creates and edits executive level presentations

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree

3 years of professional financial analysis experience

Financial acumen and keen analytical skills

Database (core concepts) and querying (SQL) knowledge, and data analysis and visualization skills

Intermediate skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint

Strong presentation skills and ability to lead executive level meetings

Ability to lead and manage special projects that require cross functional partnerships

Ability to work independently and collaborate with teammates

Preferred Qualifications

Prior Medicare Advantage P&L analysis experience

Medicare claims, risk adjustment, and membership trend experience

Medicare Shared Savings financial analysis and reporting experience

Service Fund knowledge

Beginning to intermediate SAS training

Additional Information

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.
