PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the CIO, the Principal IT Solutions Architect is an IT leadership role responsible for architecting and composing modern technology solutions and platforms for Hoag. The Principal Solutions Architect - IT leads technical strategies and architectures for system wide solutions and platforms.  Establishes best practices and leads IT architecture strategy.  A strong thought leader who will lead the IT Enterprise Architecture function including strategy, processes, tools, architecture standards, artifacts, and guidelines.  The Principal Architect will champion innovative infrastructure and software applications and platforms to meet the dynamic growth of the organization.   This role will perform technical feasibility, process oversight and impact analysis to make recommendations for infrastructure and software solutions and platforms, including Epic EHR, clinical applications and enterprise ERP.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Lead, direct and participate in the due diligence and discovery of product/solution evaluations and provide purchase recommendations from an enterprise architecture perspective. Lead Buy vs Build architecture assessment decisions *Work to optimize application build as it relates to Epic EHR and other critical applications and solutions. *Architectural oversight for design, build, testing phases for enterprise and clinical and business solutions. *Provides technical and process oversight for the implementation and optimization of clinical applications including Epic EHR, third party application integration, developing integrated application solutions and overall application security best practices. *Operate in an agile mindset and adapt to a fast-changing environment *Provides architectural oversight for supporting development, test, and production environments *Develop architecture strategy for technology and integration solutions/platforms *Lead the technical implementation of large projects including development and documentation of architecture strategies and standards and architectural oversight of design, build, test and deploy stages. *Identify, analyze, recommend, implement improvements in system architectures and application/infrastructure security. *Recommend use cases for composable infrastructure/ applications. *Identify opportunities for infrastructure AI and ML *Oversee architecture for integration platforms and processes for data exchange. *Participate in 7/24/365 management on call rotation *Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

*Seven+ years' enterprise architect experience *Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; or equivalent education and work experience *Strong industry track record driving architect definition of enterprise-wide technology solutions and technical standards *Strong understanding of privacy regulations including HITRUST, HIPAA, PCI, PHI *Integration experience with Cloud services and networking with AWS, Azure, Google and other. *Experience architecting complex clinical application solutions, including Epic EHR. *Experience with IP Services, networks, internet, wireless *Experience with virtualized services and solutions including VMWare, Hypervisor, SDN, SDWAN *Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google) and application migration and deployment in the cloud. *Experience with integration solutions including Infor Cloverleaf, Jitterbit, Corepoint, Epic Bridges, FHIR, APIs *Experience operating deep into the details across the entire product life cycle (technical design, Day-1 implementation, Day-2 operations, etc.)

PREFERRED:

*Experience with composable infrastructure and application architecture. *Digital transformation experience *Solid understanding of cyber security standards and implications to technology *Financial analysis and business case development experience *10+ years of experience in variety of technical disciplines including networks, security, system integration, managed IT services, application development. *Proficiency certifications:  Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, Azure, Epic, TOGAF 9, Open CA, ITIL, Epic
