Credits is part of the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Division within Commercial
Banking. Commercial Banking serves more than 30,000 clients, including
corporations, municipalities, financial institutions, real estate developers,
and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $20
million to $2 billion. The Firm's broad platform positions the Commercial Bank
to deliver extensive product capabilities - lending, treasury services,
investment banking, and asset management - to meet our clients' domestic and
international financial needs.
The Portfolio Credit Associate will be joining a very successful team of 20
professionals who are dedicated to investing in commercial real estate
projects. The Portfolio Credit Associate will be part of the team that
manages the bank's New Market Tax Credits (NMTC), State Tax Credits, and
Historic Tax Credit initiatives. The Portfolio Credit Associate acts as
a primary point of contact for the Historic Tax Credit Developers, Community
Development Entities (CDEs) and project borrowers (QALICBs) post-closing of a
New Markets Tax Credit and Historic Tax Credit transaction. Additionally, they act as the business-side
liaison between our clients, and the internal groups that service our Tax
Credit transactions. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced,
entrepreneurial atmosphere that requires flexibility and attention to detail.
Major Functions (Principal Duties and Responsibilities):
Prepare credit approval documents for Community Development Tax Credit equity investmentsClosing execution with other Project team membersResponsible for a portion of the portfolio of transactions and will act as the primary point of contact with CDEs, QALICBs during the Community Development Tax Credit compliance periodComplete required portfolio monitoring tasks to include: periodically collecting community impact reports, project status, compliance data, financial information from CDEs and QALICBsWork closely with the Project Team members, Chase Credit, and Legal on distressed projects ','!*!Qualifications:2-4 years of banking / lending / credit experienceCompletion of a major corporate bank commercial credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience)New Market Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credit experience a plusAccounting and finance knowledge Strong analytic and writing skills Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint Demonstrated ability to work independently and within the context of a deal teamBachelor Degree requiredThe final officer title and job grade is at the discretion of the firm and will be discussed at the time of offer.
