Description
The Strategy and Operations Business Intelligence Lead will help execute BI team goals and objectives to their timely execution. This professional will continually assess the operational effectiveness of the team and implement improvements to ensure team goals are being met. Leveraging internal and external data, this professional will identify potential business and customer opportunities, and share learnings that business stakeholders can take action on. Describes the tools, technologies, applications, and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with internal leaders to develop strategy and goals based on Data and Insights/learnings.
Serves as business intelligence liaison with other analytics teams throughout Humana to share our best practices and learn from others.
Manages intake and documentation processes for the Business Intelligence team and ensures best practices are being followed by internal and external stakeholders.
Proactively identifies and acts on opportunities to enhance the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the Business Intelligence team.
Develops, manages, and socializes key strategic performance reports to leadership. Continually seeks best method of communicating reports to maximize value to our internal stakeholders.
Drives adoption of performance measurement strategy to align departmental activities with enterprise business goals.
Ensures all BI Resources (Technology, Tools, and Process) are getting used appropriately.
Champions Business Intelligence work and practices across CDS (Core Digital Solutions) and if possible Humana.
Assists internal leaders with planning and strategy.
Champions a culture of data-driven decision making throughout the department, including the promotion of data literacy and self-service analytics at all levels including with executives.
Maintains effective relationships with business partners and serves as key advisor for development of single and cross product measurement strategies across the department.
This role will exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, works under minimal supervision and uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
This role will ideate and plan for the team's use of new tools or products. This role will serve as project leader with roadmap, assignments and milestones.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 8 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 4 years of experience
2 or more years of project leadership experience
Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs
Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
Proficiency in verbal/written communication to senior and executive leadership
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems
Experience with tools such as Tableau and Qlik for creating data visualizations
Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
