The Financial Systems Analyst participates in the design, development and support of the financial applications. The Financial Systems Analyst performs hands-on analyses of business rules and work flow, develops and implements required applications, procedures, controls, and reports. The Financial Systems Analyst helps train the Controller's Office and University end-user staff in the use of the financial systems and troubleshoots system related problems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for system integrity analysis and assurance. Responsible for financial systems training and training documentation. Responsible for finance system security reviews and quarterly security audits. Responsible for workflow analysis and documentation. Responsible for financial reporting inventory this includes updating functional documentation and technical specifications related to financial reports. Responsible for daily, monthly and fiscal year start-up and year end analyses as assigned for financial and IT audit. Responsible for development and maintenance of system interfaces with other systems of original entry including general accounting, procurement, fixed assets, grants accounting, endowment accounting, accounts receivable, payroll, budget and other financial modules.
Required Qualifications:
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or management information systems with at least five years of progressively responsible experience in information systems development, higher education financial applications and financial analysis. The successful candidate will be a high-end user of personal computers, Excel, data access tools, and technology applications in an integrated environment. Requirements include demonstrated experience in team leadership; excellent oral and written skills; ability to bridge the gap between technical support staff and end users, strong problem solving skills and ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in the development and maintenance of Ellucian Banner 9, Cognos Reports, and SQL Developer Tools is desired.
