The Who, What, Why and Where
Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Sr. Director, FInance to manage Cost of Goods Sold for the company, including but not limited to reporting & analysis. This role is responsible for influencing the cost strategy of our global carrier network, and providing actionable insights into reducing our cost base. The position will partner directly with the leaders of product, engineering, carrier relations, FP&A, and business operations to establish a mechanism for effectively managing cost of goods sold for Twilio globally. The successful candidate will also be ruthless about redesigning, streamlining and automating the processes and data flows across functions, striving for real-time understanding of our margins. Overseeing a critical area for the company, this role will report directly to the VP, Corporate FP&A and interact heavily with the CFO, as well as the broader executive team.
Who?
Twilio is looking for an individual who lives
the Twilio Magic
and has experience leading finance teams and projects. They also have:
10 years in Finance including relevant management and financial experience. Preferred experience in telecommunications or a usage-based industry.
Strong financial and analytical skills, including analyzing margins, performing variance analyses, price impact calculations, etc.
Able to communicate clearly and succinctly in writing, presentations and verbally to multiple levels within the organization.
A proven track record of cross-functional management of multiple projects concurrently with strong business acumen. Ability to drive projects to closure.
At least 5 years of experience managing direct, permanent staff and consultants / contractors.
Comfort with ambiguity and able to apply a set of tools or a framework to an ambiguous problem by identifying key metrics, mapping the process, and performing root cause analysis.
An ability to flex between the strategic and tactical as necessary.
Some understanding of
GAAP accounting principles and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
