Job Description:

The Demand Management Analyst provides analytical support to ensure reliable Fuels supply (branded and unbranded, gasoline and diesel) at competitive costs in a specific Shell region across 3rd party and Equity terminals. Accurate and timely forecasting of fuels demand throughout their region, working closely with Supply and Distribution organizations to ensure fuel supply reliability at lowest possible cost.

This role is focused on creating and maintaining the tools and processes required to support the Demand Management team as efficiently as possible. This role is also responsible for creating and sustaining new ways of working, including business development activities within the Demand Management team.

Tasks include:

Business Development

Forecasting

Day Deal and In-Month optimization adjustments

Look Back activities

Support the Sales & Operation Process for improved integrated value

Develop and run metrics and reports

Serve as back-up to Demand Coordinators

The Demand Analyst role requires a strong business focus to ensure maximum integrated value is achieved through our Retail strategies.

Accountabilities:

Forecast fuels demand by product grade across terminals and supply envelopes; Maintain communications with field Sales staff to understand wholesaler demand and issues. Provide relevant forecast and ongoing demand information to Supply/Scheduling organization to allow monthly supply plans to be developed and short-term supply issues to be resolved. Receive and provide communications to field Sales Staff and/or wholesalers to work through supply issues and disruptions; Work with Supply/Distribution groups to monitor and analyze supply reliability and service provider performance, and drive continuous improvement.

Competitive, low cost of supply to terminals: Work with Supply/Distribution groups to monitor and analyze cost elements of supply chain; Support analyses and understanding of competitor positions and costs. Support analyzes and understanding of SOPUS commercial alternatives. Provide FSM input into and support Supply/Distribution in development of low cost, competitive alternatives; Provide FSM input into development of transfer values that reflect appropriate principles of cost or fair market value.

Support FSM Pricing group in their understanding of logistics issues across terminals and in development of pricing logic in annual rack reviews.

Represent FSM business in the Integrated Business Team and support in the integrated decision making across the products supply chain and in cross business issues, facilitating dialogue between and among Shell stakeholder groups.

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related disciplines or requisite business experience.

Minimum of three (3) years of broad petroleum downstream industry experience in following areas highly desirable: Supply Logistics Planning, Market/Sales Channel Strategic Planning, Financial Budgeting and Stewardship, Project Management and Costing, Risk-based Economic Modelling and Analysis.

Microsoft Suites (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word) experience/knowledge required.

Experience with supply chain systems Matrix, Endur, TMS, TDS, Icebox is a plus.

Full mobility is required.

This Demand Analyst role is a key role in Retail in developing staff. This role will give the incumbent the successful skillset and experiences leading into a Territory Manager in the field. During this role, the individual will have an opportunity to build knowledge and understanding of SOPUS business, processes, financial impact, brand value, marketing programs, pricing and supply, etc. Following this role, the candidate will be assigned to a Wholesale Territory Manager position within the field (Continental US).
