Job Details:

This position provides critical financial and analytical support to the Innovation and R&D organizations within the Prepared Foods and Poultry business groups. This position will influence how we view innovation projects from a financial standpoint and help lead the governance around these key inputs. The candidate will partner closely with the BU marketing and other cross-functional team members and will be responsible for reporting month-end innovation metrics. In addition, analysis of the outputs through key insights of variances from the Annual Plan & latest estimates (LE) will be an important aspect of this role, along with communication to our partnering cross-functional teams. During the stage-gating approval process, this person assists with the creation and development of profit and loss statements for innovation projects, attends project governance meetings to offer a finance perspective on individual projects and assists with any related Capital Improvement Requests (CIR's). This person will take on our new prioritization reporting, partner with the field to govern the NPD data, and work on strategically important projects to drive analytical insights and promote data integrity. Furthermore, this position supports the Innovation and R&D teams throughout the AOP and Strategic Plan process as it relates to Innovation, will partner with Innovation Labs in a limited BU Finance support capacity, and be exposed to a variety of roles and functions within Tyson.

REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting

Experience: 3 year work experience in Finance/Accounting

Computer Skills: Strong analytical and system skills required. Strong Excel experience required. Ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets and translate into meaningful information. Experience working with NPD, AFE, SAP, Power BI, Tableau, and SAP a plus.

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills required.

Special Skills: Detail oriented and strong analytical skills with ability to work cross-functionally. Knowledge and understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts. Understanding of innovation project types (sustaining, break-out, and disruptive) and governance processes (stage-gating and prioritization).

Travel: 1 to 5 domestic trips per year.

You will also be responsible for the development, maintenance, and reporting of performance metrics that will be used by leadership to make strategic decisions. You should be undaunted by large datasets and prepared to solve problems with modern technology. Key Qualifications:

Must have academic background or professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field

Must have two years of related work experience

Must have a thorough understanding of financial statements and an ability to educate and influence stakeholders in financial best-practices

Must have strong analytical and reporting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Business Unit Finance and/or analysis of profit and loss (P&L) statements

Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Access)

Experience with data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, Google Charts, D3.js)

Experience with business process automation

Experience with programming (Python, SQL, JavaScript)
