Position Overview

Brightcove is looking to hire a

Senior Manager, Corporate Development

who will be focused on accelerating Brightcove’s strategic initiatives through mergers and acquisitions, investments, enterprise scale strategic partnerships, and corporate business development opportunities.

This individual will ideally have a background in both banking/consulting/private equity and corporate experience at a public or large private media / tech company. The candidate must have significant corporate development experience including sourcing, evaluating, and executing transactions and partnerships. This key member of the Corporate Development team will also contribute to corporate strategy formulation and planning, special strategic / transformation projects and new business development activities.

Job Responsibilities

Gain in-depth knowledge of industry and market trends, competitive landscape, and end-consumers to deliver business and market insights to facilitate the evaluation, decision making, and execution of growth opportunities.

Bring an analytical foundation to all work; collaborate across the organization to support the identification, research, evaluation, due diligence of M&A, strategic investments, partnerships and other business ventures on a global basis, across business.

Own the financial modeling (scenario analyses, DCF, LBO, valuation, M&A) and development of business cases and plans to support strategic initiatives.

Over time develop subject matter expertise and become a key point of contact throughout the company for initial evaluation of strategic opportunities.

Perform competitive benchmarking and industry trend research and analysis partnering with Brightcove’s internal BI, Product Marketing, and Sales teams.

Prepare presentations for board of directors, senior management, and other internal teams, on various topics including strategic M&A direction, opportunities and updates on execution and transactions.

Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or Finance required.

Experience working in any one or a combination of the following:

2-3 years in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting (TMT and/or PE practice) plus,

1-2 years in a corporate development/strategy role at a media or technology company.

Demonstrated interest in the technology and media industries.

Proficient in modeling, analysis, and research.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Self-starter and capable of working independently.

Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Ability to build meaningful and long-lasting connections both internally and externally to facilitate successful partner relationships.

Positive attitude is a must.

Highly collaborative, accountable, with a positive attitude and outlook.

Innovative thinker while open to new ideas and perspectives.
