Job Summary
The Corporate Strategy Senior Manager will have the opportunity to work on a variety of strategic and high visibility projects that help shape Comcast's enterprise wide strategy. This key contributor to the Corporate Strategy team will work with functional leaders across all of Comcast's Business Units, including Comcast Cable, NBCUniversal, and Sky. The scope of this role includes identifying new growth opportunities, evaluating investment opportunities, answering key strategic questions, and supporting or driving high impact special or operational projects. The Senior Manager will have the opportunity to interact with & present to executives at the highest level of the company. Day-to-day, they will provide project management over their workstreams or projects and use analytical, communication and problem-solving skills to conduct in-depth analysis and make recommendations.
Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
Assist Corporate Strategy leadership on strategy projects related to Comcast's businesses (e.g. Corporate, Cable, NBCU, Sky)
Evaluate the financial, operational and strategic attractiveness of new business opportunities or existing initiatives
Consider tradeoffs and evaluate interdependencies in assessment of potential opportunities
Work with our Business Units to support new growth areas for further expansion
Independently structure problems, scope analyses and iterate workstreams to final product
Provide business insights based on rigorous, fact-based analyses of customer needs, competitive dynamics, and industry trends
Create clear executive level presentations to communicate results
Participate in meetings with senior Comcast executives and external groups (e.g. investment banks, industry experts)
Support the launch of new products and business operations by working with key constituents across products and functions to ensure alignment with business objectives
Support select internal initiatives such as strategic retreats, recruiting programs, efficiency programs
Core Responsibilities:
Conducts financial and operational analysis proficiently and with minimal support
Structures problem solving approaches in a logical and coherent manner
Identifies and sources relevant data, and synthesizes key information and insights from multiple workstreams, data sources, and team members
Drives to meaningful insights and actionable recommendations based on hypotheses and analyses
Creates effective slides & storylines to communicate outputs, tailored to audience & objectives
Builds strong relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts across business units
Leads brainstorming meetings and discussions with working team and iterates to final product; presents recommendations
Independently manages workload across projects
Keeps current on important industry trends based on analyst research, industry news
Contributes to team building (i.e., coordinating trainings, organizing events, helping with recruiting)
Works collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, including mentorship of junior team members and interns
Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or related field of study required
5 years of overall strategy & development or related experience
Management consulting or investment banking experience preferred, but not required
Experience developing business cases, financial models, and delivering senior-executive level presentations
Previous experience with the cable, telecommunications, internet, media and/or entertainment industries preferred
Other Requirements:
Excellent organizational, financial, interpersonal and communication skills
Self-starter with ability to drive analytics independently and manage multiple projects / deadlines
Excellent diplomacy, relationship building, and communications skills across all levels
Comfortable interacting with senior executives
