Description
The Portfolio Management Lead will be responsible for leading specific strategic programs for the Vice President of Talent Strategy and Planning, taking overall strategic direction on a program and creating next level strategic needs and building alignment with stakeholders and broader organization for planning, communicating, and operationalizing programs.
Responsibilities
The Portfolio Management Lead organizes and prioritizes projects and programs based on IT Strategy, strategic roadmap, available and prioritized budgets, changes schedules and ensures that the appropriate financial and organizational support is being allocated in support of those goals. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Role responsibilities:
Manages specific talent strategy program design and implementation planning, overseeing the interdependencies and integration of interrelated projects, and leading program execution to deliver business value.
Takes overall strategic direction related to a program and brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret, and produce ongoing strategic needs based on company and external data analysis.
Leads all aspects of a program, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
Assists AVP, Talent Management in assembling and leading program team; identifying appropriate roles and skillsets needed and communicates with other areas in the organization to secure resources and contributions to meet the project targets and milestones.
Brings agile methodology and best practices forward to ensure optimal team alignment
Works on programs of diverse scope and complexity
Engages cross enterprise partnerships to bridge the gap between program and business impacts
Ability to design, communicate, and operationalize plans for completing projects
Monitors progress and performance against project plan; communicates and seeks resolution to barriers on the timeline.
Leads OKR alignment, linking talent initiative outcomes to enterprise outcomes.
Understands department, segment and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
Supports coordination and execution of critical talent reporting needs, including material preparation to support Talent Reviews at the Board and MT level.
Required Qualifications
8 years of experience with a focus on process and project management
Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, and guide decision making accordingly
Significant prior Project and Program leadership experience, inclusive of budget accountability
Assures that timelines are met, deliverables are produced with quality, hurdles are overcome, and that issues are escalated in accordance with established governance frameworks
Ability to apply the principles of independent logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make strategic recommendations
Ability to integrate and coordinate content from various sources to establish deliverables for multiple stakeholders and hold others accountable for delivering
Ability to synthesize information from a variety of resources to present or address an issue.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Working knowledge of agile ways of working/methodology
OKR training, knowledge and implementation practice
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at multiple levels
Well able to facilitate large and small groups and assure meeting objectives are met, and actions are taken/tracked and completed to assure desired outcomes are achieved
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or other Advanced Degree
Possess a solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes
Six Sigma certification
PMP certification
Demonstrated ability to run large scale, highly visible programs with responsibility for multiple project teams
