Provider Analytics develops and applies actionable analytics and insights, which are integral to business needs, to drive informed provider network strategy.
Responsibilities
Humana is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to help drive effective provider contracting across the organization through collaboration, innovative thinking and proactive analytics. In addition, this role will have the opportunity to assess provider risk opportunities, provider network design, provider reimbursement strategies, and medical cost savings that could positively impact the financial performance of Humana.
In this role, you will utilize multiple data sources, maintain customer relationships and create advanced analytics to facilitate contracting initiatives and support our National hospital and ancillary contractors. Additionally this role will utilize technical skills to build, maintain and improve tools and processes.
As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer you will influence, educate and lead both internal and external business groups in order to optimize business results. You will also help establish business objectives and create a tangible plan that will lead to their realization.
Function as a point-of-contact for all Ancillary provider contracting initiatives' analytics including Home Health, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Dialysis, Lab and Durable Medical Equipment.
Provide analytics support for National Hospital Contract negotiations and other reporting needs.
Responsible for building, and maintaining new tools in support of our internal customers including National Contracting and local market contracting.
Will work cross functionally across multiple teams in order to provide clear solutions for complex business problems.
Will use a consultative approach to collaborate effectively with the markets, and other customers.
Act as a key resource and liaison to other functional areas of Humana's business, building productive cross-functional relationships.
Will work directly with providers in complex analyses in support of new initiatives and/or to avoid litigation.
Leverage various sources of information including provider DataMart, claims and membership tables.
This individual will be an individual contributor with the ability to lead projects and act independently
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
5 or more years of in data analysis experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
Advanced skillset using SQL, SAS, Python, R, and/or other languages
Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
Proficiency in verbal and written communication to leadership
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and/or Qlikview for creating data visualizations
Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
