With a global remit and deep knowledge of the end-to-end gas value chain, anchored on close customer and market intimacy, Shell Energy is in a unique position to maximize value of Shell’s gas, LNG, power and environmental products business and portfolio.

Shell Energy Global Integration (SEGI) is looking for a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Market Analyst to join its team supporting day-to-day activities for trading and broader Shell.

What’s the role?

The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing supply, demand, infrastructure and policy views together, modeling key drivers to develop market forecasts across all time horizons and various gas markets. The emphasis is on developing both qualitative and quantitative capabilities, supported as appropriate by network and models/tools.

Accountabilities:

Contribute to LNG outlook with regional gas and LNG supply and demand forecasts.

Manage and maintain country-level gas supply and demand models.

Collect and interpret gas/LNG market information from a variety of internal and external sources.

Collaborate with teams across Shell to create a single/unified forecast for global gas and LNG markets.

Ad hoc analysis and requests from local trading teams.

Regular updates on the competitive environment in the market.

Requirements:

What we need from you

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Finance or any related field required.

Minimum (3) three years of experience in gas, power, oil market analysis and modeling across short, mid and long-term horizons.

Ability to develop fundamental-based views on quantitative analysis that will be translated into profitable investments and trades.

Ability to filter multiple perspectives for commercially-actionable intelligence.

Proven experience working on dynamic analytical teams focused on rapid and accurate creation of models, views, and custom applications.

Exceptional written and oral communication, presentation and data visualization skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relations at multiple levels and across teams.

Experience in data analytics, modeling, simulation systems, computational modeling or complex systems modeling preferred.

Experience in emerging and liberalizing gas and power markets preferred.
