SUMMARY
Alaska Industrial Hardware, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Credit Specialist for Anchorage Location.
Alaska Industrial Hardware is currently recruiting for a Credit Specialist, full time hourly, with medical, dental, PTO and,401kbenefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop a working relationship with assigned accounts to strengthen the relationship and the quality of service provided
Maintain accounts receivable customer files
Maintain up-to-date billing system
Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc.
Communicate professionally with customers via phone, email, mail, or personally
Document all customer contact in memo system for permanent record
Monitor and maintain assigned accounts for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
Provide customer service regarding account issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments
Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
Reconciliation of accounts
Research and solve payment discrepancies
Investigate and resolve customer queries
Make collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department
Accountable for reducing delinquency of assigned accounts
• Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process
• Screen/Review applications to ensure we have sufficient information to make a credit determination.
• Verify trade references/Pull credit history reports when necessary
• Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Associates degree in Accounting or a minimum of 2 years experience.
Strong communication written and oral, problem solving, and analytical skills required.
Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently wand with a sense of urgency.
Knowledge of basic computer and office equipment including mid-level Excel skills, 10-key by touch, MS Word, and Outlook
Commitment to excellent customer service
Ability to maintain professionalism in high stress situations
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Knowledge of billing and collections procedures including the Fair Debt Collections Practices Regulations.
Familiarity with commercial accounts in construction, oil & gas industries as well as government and Alaska non-profit organizations highly desired.
Preferred

No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background, and credit check results. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity.
