Job Description
The Home Preservation Client Representative is responsible for providing ‘single point of contact’ to borrowers whose loans are delinquent or at high risk for delinquency. This representative assists borrowers over the phone to find solutions to maintain home ownership. If retention options are not possible, discuss other solutions including short sales and deeds in lieu.
This role is a part of the Loss Mitigation Function. Loss Mitigation works with defaulted borrowers, investors, and insurers in an effort to avoid the completion of foreclosure and to mitigate loss to all, in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations, investor/insurer and SunTrust policies and procedures.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to, compiling a complete file to submit to underwriting, analyzing housing credit and income information, identifying and recommending options for borrowers, and notifying borrowers of decision, current status, options, and timelines, throughout the process. Performs a variety of mortgage loan documentation and call duties on moderately complex loans, using comprehensive knowledge of loss mitigation policies and procedures for loan products.
Is registered and maintains active, SunTrust sponsored registration in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR) and has been assigned a unique identifier number in compliance with the federal S.A.F.E. Act requirements.
Work Schedule: 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma with 2 years experience in a direct customer contact service, collections, loan workout or sales environment or related financial services experience OR a Bachelors Degree
Strong follow up and customer service skills as well as computer knowledge including proficiency in Word and Excel
Demonstrated ability to work in a high pressure environment
Eligible to manage or perform loan origination or servicing functions under Mortgage Investor or government agency guideline requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
1 year experience in a loss mitigation/originations processing/loan administration or call center environment
Spanish speaking
