Job Description:
What is the role?
Credit analyst for Shell Energy Americas portfolios (SENA, SENAC, STRM, STB, STM ). Role be focused on ensuring credit risk management principles and policies are carried out in accordance with T&S Global Credit Mandate. This must be balanced with supporting commercial growth whilst ensuring fit for purpose credit programs/solutions are robust enough to manage and monitor credit risks that enable such growth for new market entries, complex products and strategies.
Accountability for assigned portion of Shell Americas portfolio, with strong focus on Renewable Power Projects, Long Term structured deals, Renewable Gas and Emissions as well as developing credit risk strategies for such products and/or emerging and dynamic markets such as Brazil, Mexico, ERCOT and California. Key focus areas change from time to time given market dynamics, risk and growth opportunities; the role will focus on supporting the Head of Americas Commercial Credit Risk, the Credit Risk Manager Americas and the entire Americas Commercial Credit Risk organization on performance reporting with an emphasis on risk/reward analysis, upward communication, deal monitoring and contract negotiation.
Accountabilities:
Heavy interaction with Finance Managers, Deal Structurers, RRA (Risk Reporting and Analytics), Market Risk and Commercial Leaders, Traders and Originators as well as other senior level Credit Risk members.
Holding and executing MOA at L5
Strong collaboration with Americas Credit Managers, reporting to the Americas Credit Risk Manager
Participation in preparations for the Global Credit Committee for portfolio, counterparty or structural support for key decisions
Partner with RRA group to build out more analytical, reporting and stress testing capabilities within Credit Risk organization taking advantage of RRA and deal structuring existing tools. Participate in the Global Credit Solution Project further enhancing these capabilities and tools
Lead through other credit and finance members to accomplish goals and overall credit strategies and credit valuations.
Strong relationship with Peer Credit Managers to cross collaborate and ensure Shell Energy Gas & Power Credit processes are consistent where appropriate. Develop and Implement best practices from collaboration and implement as needed
Utilize experience and professionalism to foster new ideas, continuous improvement (CI), elimination of non value add and digitalization and automation where appropriate to adhere and materialize word class finance risk reward principles and ESSA mindset
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s Degree required
At least 1 year prior credit risk, market risk, or finance experience preferred ideally across both a trading and marketing environment, with knowledge of gas & power businesses is a must
Experience with stress testing and analytical tools (PFE, VAR etc) important
Key is demonstrated ability to learn quickly and switch priorities at short notice
Experience in working in a global organisation and in a virtual working environment ' '-Experience in working with structured credit transactions helpful
Proven credibility with senior business and finance stakeholders, including the ability to present credit matters in the broader context of STn priorities
