Aon is looking for a VP, Project Management Office As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering unique and effective solutions within our innovative and niche Intellectual Property Solutions group in Boston. You will be responsible for building and leading our IPS Project Management Office. As the VP, Project Management Office, you will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer. Aon’s Intellectual Property Solutions team is part of Aon Growth Ventures (AGV), which accelerates innovation on behalf of clients and expands Aon’s addressable market. AGV brings the power of Aon’s enterprise skills, assets, and relationships to rapidly scale Aon’s most significant growth stage opportunities. As an IP Solutions team member, you will be a key part of this process. JOB OVERVIEW:Seeking a proactive, personable PMO leader to support Aon’s Intellectual Property Solutions business. You will work directly with business leaders to build and manage a new Project Management Office within the Intellectual Property Solutions group. You will also manage projects directly, framing out critical projects and ensuring business value/objectives are delivered within agreed parameters. You will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are properly managed and supported. You will also serve as a guide and leader for other project managers within the business. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure the successful implementation of the PMO’s strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables.Define, implement, and monitor project control and governance.Establish frameworks and standards for the PMO. Manage and compile PMO-related financial and KPI information.Facilitate the creation of business cases to enable fact-based project funding decisions.Lead project teams, including meeting with project sponsors to assist in framing the project charter, specifically drawing out objective and benefits, scope, level of investment and timeline. Develop project plans with effective work breakdown structures. Guide team in developing these same skills.Identify needed project team skills; build out PMO team as budgeted.Track and report on project performance across the PMO, focusing on impact to realizing objectives; risk and issue identification and ensuring mitigation plans are proactively managed and reported. Assist the team in reporting same to Senior Management and project stakeholders. Provide and maintain a capacity planning and resource tracking service across the PMO.Ensure cross-PMO dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained.Build cohesion and a collaborative culture within the team. Motivate team to produce exceptional work across PMO.
