Investment Associate

Profile

Founded and led by billion-dollar investment and operations company Founder and Executive Chairman, Peter Rex, InvestRes (part of the Rex family of companies) is looking for an Investment Associate to assist with all direct asset strategy, analysis, evaluation of market opportunities, capital raising, and allocation initiatives.

Based out of Austin, TX, the Investment Associate will monitor fund performance and the performance of all underlying assets, stress test the portfolio, recommend refinances and recapitalizations to the investment committee, execute on all portfolio decisions, and own all distribution analysis and recommendations.

The Associate will be instrumental in managing the relationships with key financial stakeholders of our established, fully deployed funds, and will look to help shape the strategy and execution of new investment opportunities.

In year one you will:

Evaluate risks and negotiate transactions, including pricing and structuring of financing

Develop financial models to analyze portfolio’s investment returns and flexibility to determine appropriate financing terms and covenants

Prepare presentation and marketing materials, including the request for proposals, lender diligence, model outputs, and structuring objectives for senior leadership

Collaborate with team on all structured finance transactions, including valuation, accounting, third-party engagements

Ensure proper preparation, including materials, ahead of planned investor meetings

Facilitate reporting processes, controls, cash flow forecasting with Investor Services and FP&A

Collaborate with the team to generate new ideas and further initiatives

The ideal candidate has:

Bachelor's degree

3-5 years of experience in commercial multifamily real estate or the private equity multifamily space

Asset & Portfolio management

Strong, proven financial acumen (verifiable analytical work)

Experience performing asset and fund level analysis to validate refinances, recapitalizations, and any other liquidity events, including stress testing for recessions, and creating 24-month cash flow analyses

Experience performing distribution analysis and assisting on distribution recommendations
