JOB OVERVIEW
As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.
The Office of Accounting and Finance, College of Medicine is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Oversee daily processing and accounting functions; ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with university, local, state and federal requirements and standard accounting and audit procedures including all compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. *Monitor and interpret key financial data in the development of cost analysis and reports. *Develop, analyze, establish, and maintain accounting systems. *Perform internal auditing or financial records and act as lead. Interface with internal and external auditors. *Prepare integrated financial and statistical reports, statements and projections and recommendations presented to leadership. *Recommend accounting and control systems. *Accounting and financial liaison with other university offices. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need. REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree must be in Accounting or related field.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of accounting related work experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Fund accounting experience. *SAP financial software experience. *Intermediate user of Microsoft products.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
*Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
