Description
The Accountant 2 performs accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and reviews financial statements related to cash and other general ledger accounts. The Accountant 2 also conducts or assists in projects to improve the quality of the financial statements. The Accountant 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action, while adhering to deadlines. The Accountant 2 should be able to successfully operate in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
The Accountant 2 prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and policies. Provides financial support, including analyzing variations from previous periods and variances from budget and projections. Reconciles and analyzes statutory accounts, using reports and analytical tools. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Works with business partners to resolve reconciling items, including participating in process improvement initiatives.
Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures, maintains strong attention to detail, and adheres to deadlines.
Create, record and reconcile daily/weekly reports - Accounts Payable items, inventory receiving, cash/checks, credit cards
Create, review and track journal entries and accruals for monthly financial close
Reconcile and validate Associate Expenses, various Controllable Admin Expenses, Inventory, Accounts Receivable, Depreciation, Revenue and/or COGs expense for various Lines of Business along with related adjustments
Track and update daily, weekly and monthly financial metrics and reports
Complete special Accounting projects with varied and complex components
Some administrative duties
Perform ad-hoc and routine duties associated with Accounting
Reconcile expense, service fees and drug discount reporting
Required Qualifications
Strong Excel experience as defined by demonstrated experience with v look-ups, summarizing data with tables/ formatting and moving info accurately, etc)
General Ledger knowledge in a similar/related business environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Associates working in the state of Arizona must comply with the Tobacco Free Hiring Policy and upon offer will be subjected to nicotine testing as part of a 10 panel drug test
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
Pharmacy knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Access
Comprehensive knowledge of SQL
Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle DB
Additional Information:
This role can be located in the Glendale, AZ office or WAH OH, KY, IN (if in IN, must be within a 50 mile/commutable distance to the LVL area).
