Job Purpose/Summary:
The Associate Group Controller will play a critical leadership role in partnering with cross-functional leaders to deliver accurate and timely Financial Reporting for the Fresh Meats business. This role is focused on the development, documentation and maintenance of the control environment for the segment, and will lead the development of Internal Controls and Enterprise Risk Management agenda. Strong communication and an ability to build effective partnerships are paramount for success. Day to day accountabilities include partnering with the business teams to report on performance, and to drive change in the areas of report development, rationalization and automation. Finally, this individual will be agile, open-minded and excited by the opportunity to lead transformational change.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the staff and activities of the Fresh Meats (FM) Financial Accounting team, including, but not limited to, the following - internal management report preparation and analysis, weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reporting to Tyson Corporate, maintenance of FM financial master data for SAP and legacy G/L system.
Prepare and oversee the application of analytical review procedures to FM consolidated financial statements; conduct timely reviews monthly/quarterly.
Coordinate FM involvement with the Company's independent accountants regarding quarterly reviews, SOX controls work and preparation of required audit schedules.
Prepare mandatory Packers & Stockyards annual report, Dept. of Commerce Survey of Manufacturers, and certain quarterly governmental reports as necessary.
Maintain FM allocations/assessments and associated master data for actuals and budget.
Collaborate in annual FM budget processes with FM Sr. Group Controller, Enablement Services and FM P/L forecasting teams.
Maintain FM oversight role in GAAP and SOX internal controls issues/concerns and handle accounting for Cryovac leases/equipment credits.
Enhance financial reporting for the Fresh Meats organization. Partner with business leaders to develop, monitor and communicate performance.
Build collaborative working relationships with the F&A leadership team to drive productivity, operational and process improvements.
Develop and maintain SG&A Reporting for the Fresh Meats organization.
Collaborate with IT to develop system solutions and reporting that facilitate the analytics agenda for the Segment.
Requirements:
Education/Certifications: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required
Experience: 8 plus years experience in Finance in a CPG organization preferred. CPA preferred.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS office required
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills required
Special Skills: Data accuracy, problem solving, leadership and presentation skills required. Experience with SAP BI BPC is desired.
Travel: Limited travel
Relocation is available.
