We are in the process of transforming Marketing Operations to increase impact and efficiency by re-thinking processes, technology, reporting, operations and talent development; and therefore, we’re looking for a Customer Insights Analyst to fuel data-driven field and digital Marketing activities throughout the demand funnel and across the customer journey.
As a Customer Insights Analyst, you will be responsible for creating and communicating
in-depth analysis of prospect and customer data, and provide insights and recommendations to Marketing and Sales to improve conversion and increase revenue. You will combine and look for relationships among multiple internal and external data sources, build models to guide digital and account based marketing efforts, form and prove/disprove hypotheses leveraging statistics, and recommend sources of additional data when needed. You will partner closely with Marketing and Sales Operations, product business units and IT on development and delivery of insights and recommendations, and provide advanced analytics models to enable implementation of those recommendations. You will partner closely with the Marketing and Sales teams on continual refinement and automation of customer insights to evolve our models and improve Marketing and Sales effectiveness.
About You
You are a team player with experience working and collaborating with cross-functional global teams. A problem solver and idea generator, you have experience working in Marketing and Sales, with experience leveraging business intelligence tools, analytics platforms, multiple data sources, and statistical tools. You have experience in B2B and full demand funnel business processes from brand to recurring revenue to upsell and cross-sell. You design and deliver strategic data, models and analytics projects for both an executive and operational audience.
Responsibilities
Build a marketing Customer Insights practice – a new Pure Storage Marketing Ops global function – in less than 90 days
Work with IT to bring together known and unknown data from critical sources, for a true 360 customer view.
Support and guide our clients and prospects in using, understanding, and acting on customer data
creates and executes a strategic vision that maximizes the role played by Customer Analytics in our business and in our clients' businesses, evolving our consulting offering to keep up with the volume and scope of demand, and managing a growing and inspired team
Scale our consulting practice by directing the creation and curation of subject matter expertise and templating consulting processes and deliverables for repeatability of service motions
Consult with leaders from major consumer brands to identify trends, opportunities, and valuable segments that help them promote and measure incremental growth
Represent the team and Amperity as an expert in the Customer Analytics space
Support the Amperity selling motion with your deep analytics expertise, generating insights that showcase the value Amperity provides
Build scalable methodology and tools to accelerate the analytics motion
Help inform product direction
Contribute to Amperity-sponsored analytic studies shared with our community
Perform analysis on prospect and customer experience data and provide insights and recommendations to internal partners to improve the customer experience
Focus on full Pure Storage portfolio and end-to-end experiences over time - flexibility and eagerness to learn new areas of the business are required for success
Perform in-depth analysis of customer data, and provide insights and recommendations to Marketing and Sales to drive growth
Provide actionable insights to reduce friction and influence partner teams to make improvements on top customer needs
Leverage your passion for digging into data, structuring problems, and building analyses to identify actionable insights from application data and digital marketing channels, both on Pure channels and externally
Leverage data-driven tools and methodologies to understand marketing levers
Initiate new ideas, approaches and actions to move the business forward
Constantly test new ideas and concepts, gleaning insights from what worked (or didn't), and leverage opportunities to scale the customer insights program based on results
Provide reporting and insights to help stakeholders identify and evaluate opportunities
Develop and streamline necessary dashboards and one-off analyses, providing ability to surface business-critical KPIs
Partner with stakeholders and Business Intelligence teams to acquire necessary data for robust analysis
Convert data into insights including implications and recommendations that are specific and actionable for Sales and Marketing teams
Partner with other analysts as well as data engineering and IT teams to support building a best-in-class customer data platform and data infrastructure
Stay current on best practice in Marketing Analytics methodologies, available data sources and trends
Communicate insights using data visualization and presentations to stakeholders
Have a deep understanding of the customer, with obsessive understanding of new trends, and opportunities
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or other relevant field.
7 years experience in an analytic role using financial, industry, and/or customer data research and analysis to drive decision making
Ability to synthesize large quantities of data and distill into actionable information for Marketers and marketing systems to leverage.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with a natural instinct for innovation and pragmatic 'out-of-the- box' thinking
The ability to proactively manage multiple projects through business prioritization and active communication with key stakeholders
Fluency in Python, R, SQL, and/or related languages
Experience with dashboarding tools such a Tableau, Cognos, PowerBI
Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to network, influence, and inspire
Strong oral and written communications skills
Able to distill complex solutions and ideas into concise media for audiences in all levels of the company
Experience working with 3rd party advanced simulation and statistical tools
Data mining and data management experience
Experience leading and working with remote teams
Collaborative personality that thrives in a highly cross functional, cross-cultural environment

Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and complex project management
Demonstrated use of modeling and statistical concepts applied to solve business problems
Possess core analytical competencies: problem formulation and analysis, data QA and results, summarizing findings and providing actionable insights
Extensive experience in digital Marketing, knowledge of media tactics, audiences and the systems and platforms that generate digital media data
Experience integrating, cleansing, modeling and reporting on multiple data sources
Knowledge of databases, relational database concepts, SQL and data visualization solutions
Experience in scripting, coding, scrum and agile methodologies a bonus. You have built reporting in BI tools
Bias for action. You see the big picture and understand the complexity inside Pure Storage. You are willing to work in an agile environment.
