Description
The M&A Lead identifies, researches, analyzes, makes recommendations and negotiates potential mergers, acquisitions and divestitures to support the organization's growth objectives. Makes recommendations regarding the impact of possible mergers, acquisitions and divestitures on the organization's profitability. Conducts appropriate due diligence to ensure the reliability of information provided by potential acquisition targets. The M&A Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Responsibilities
The M&A Lead makes recommendations regarding the impact of possible mergers, acquisitions and divestitures on the organization's profitability. Conducts appropriate due diligence to ensure the reliability of information provided by potential acquisition targets. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
6 years of complex transactional interactions (for example with finance, accounting, investment banking, consulting, corporate development and/or corporate strategy experience, and/or equivalent)
2 or more years of project leadership experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications
Strong work ethic, detail orientation and passion for excellence
Knowledge of general financial and accounting principals
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or MBA
Experience investment banking, private equity or corporate development
Additional Information
Louisville, KY is the highly preferred location for this role, however, the Arlington, VA/DC, Charlotte, NC offices will also be acceptable (hybrid home/office workstyle and relo assistance will be provided)
