Specialist- Credit Trading and Supply (MID SHIFT/ NIGHT SHIFT)

Purpose

This role is part of the Global Credit Operations Team (Houston, London, Singapore and Manila) which is focused on instilling operational excellence. You will work in the Credit Trading & Supply team in Manila, who undertakes regular Credit Activities in support of all T&S entities covered by the Trade Finance Team in London hub.

This role encompasses a wide range of tasks with possibility of expanded business in the future. It therefore offers real variety and opportunity to impact commercial outcomes. We are seeking an individual to join the team that can think creatively, has a passion to understand and critically assess the businesses with which Shell trades through an understanding of the macro environment and is ready to bring ideas for continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

Act as the day-to-day ‘face of credit’ interfacing directly with counterparties, Global T&S Credit team, commercial and finance stakeholders to support and advise on the exposure of T&S to counterparties and relevant risk mitigation process to collateralize exposure (where required). Tasks will include but may not be limited to:

• Monitoring of deals done and prompting trading desks of impending security to be received.

• To advise on acceptability of issuing bank. If issuing bank is not acceptable, to liaise with operator to ensure an acceptable issuing bank

• If counterparty is not able to provide acceptable issuing bank, to liaise with Trade Finance Team to get LC confirmed at cost of applicant.

• Connect with Operators to receive draft copies of SBLCs/Bank Guarantees

• Vet the Standby LCs/Bank Guarantees for conformity with the standard format. For non-standard formats, to counter through Operator to get conformity

• For those that are not able to adhere to format, to liaise with Legal on the implications of insertion/deletions/revisions of the standard format especially law and sanction clause.

• To get MoA approval from authority holders for the acceptance of the non-standard terms.

• To update bank exposures in DEX/Endur/Energy Credit/FED

• To monitor the due dates of the transactions and ensure that expiry dates of trade security is at least 14 days after payment due date. Any shorter will require MoA approval.

• To check with Chennai on the receipt of payment on due date plus one. If payment is not received, to inform operator and Finance.

• Five days before expiry of the Trade Security, to check if there are any outstanding payments (demurrage/other charges) etc.. If there are to

inform operators/finance and to determine if we can claim these on the trade security.

• Upon receipt of payment, to update bank exposure.

• To execute cancellation of trade security if required by counterparty
