Aon is looking for Data Analytcs Manager - Internal Audit Overview of Internal Audit Dept: The Internal Audit Department reports directly to Audit Committee of Aon Corporation’s Board of Directors. The global department has approximately 80 team members located in Chicago, Lincolnshire, London, Dublin, Amsterdam and Bangalore. The department’s primary mission is to evaluate the adequacy of Aon’s internal control environment and to assess compliance with corporate policy and designated laws and regulations. Position Summary: This exciting position will impact the overall success of the Internal Audit Data Analytics Program through the development of innovative protocols of data access process, building and maintaining data infrastructure and library, designing and developing analytics that will serve to improve and optimize the Internal Audit strategic initiative. This role also manages and maintains data security, builds a library of automated analytics, and integrates analytics into the audit process and designs analytic-enabled audit programs. This progressive individual will engage cross functionally with technology leaders, global audit teams, management auditee stakeholders, internal audit department leadership, and external resource; and build and maintain relationships with data and system owners in the business and technology teams to facilitate understanding and access to data necessary to achieve data analytics objectives. This is a highly visible position requiring excellent written and verbal communication skills and the experience and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix environment. Key Responsibilities: Build the data infrastructure and maintain required security. Develop and maintain a complete application of full data cycle and data disposal procedures. Communicate the data requirements and ensure IA receives access to the source information needed, understanding of the data relationships to the business processes. Manage Data Analytics Program Governance activities including data validation, data storage, analytics documentation protocol, proper security and maintenance of analytics deliverables. Manage Program Operations and allocate workload and provide guidance and direction to meet the goals of the program Manage the R&D process to support the department innovation objective, to address emerging priorities of the data analytics leadership team as well as audit team requests to deliver new analytic products and services, while balancing delivery and execution of requests in the DA Dashboard. Engage in the risk assessment and audit planning with each Audit Director and monitor the pre-planning of audit projects to ensure analytics are included at appropriate stages of the audits.Assist audit teams with the use of inquiry of key systems to facilitate understanding of data in the business process. Participate in department technology leadership work streams on support, knowledge management processes and use of tools.Skills Required: The role requires a mixture of multidisciplinary skills ranging from an intersection of data science, database administration, communication, and business acumen. The key skills required for this position are:Expert knowledge of database concept to design and manage the data environment (Oracle, MS SQL server, MySQL)Sound knowledge of data management concepts to build and manage the program data architecture, policies, practices and proceduresProven technical skills required to build a data infrastructure, library, and overall management of data analytics program, including:Collect, reconcile, analyze, organize enterprise data sets, provide insight Prepare written summaries to accompany results and maintain documentationAble to understand business requirement and communicate effectively with business stakeholdersClearly explain what the data indicates and how it can be utilized to support the project objectivesAble to translate data into insight using data visualization toolsNon-relational DB concepts (Workday) is a plusScripting language e.g., ACL is a plusExperience with cloud computing, storage, and application is advantageous Statistical computing package e.g., SAS, R, SPSS is a plusStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management within the department and company.
