Job Summary:
Our client is looking for an accountant to join their hybrid team in Miramar, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, collections, assets control, product cost, labor or inventory analysis or consolidation.
Duties:
Prepare and analyze financial statements
Research and explain variances for revenue, overhead and direct expenses (e.g, Cash Application, Lockbox processing, Bank Reconciliation, Journal Entries, Ad-hoc reporting account reconciliations, creates journal entries and prepares various management reports)
Perform roaming financial settlement, month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations
Work with third party vendor on settlement process
Perform collections activates and research on outstanding receivable and payable positions
Communicate with roaming partners on settlement issues
Prepare Revenue Based Tax and Regulatory filings, such as Gross Receipts Tax, Federal and State Universal Service Fund, PUC annual reports etc.
Perform state apportionment for revenue allocations
Research State and Local Tax laws, rules, and regulations related to return and filing processes
Perform tax and regulatory liability account reconciliation and analysis
Desired Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Proven experience in the following fields: Financial accounting / GAAP compliance, financial controls, financial reporting, cash and credit transactions, AR / AP management, payroll processing, tax compliance and planning, journal entry reconciliation preparation, and Sales Tax/Tax Law
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite
