The Business Intelligence Lead provides solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to quality measurement development and applications. The Business Intelligence Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complex problems by bringing their own contributions together with other key stakeholders from across the enterprise and external experts.
As a Business Intelligence Lead, you will:
Lead the design, development, implementation and evaluation of new clinical measurement strategies.
Describe the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's quality data in order to create insightful and actionable business information.
Analyze and interpret data to drive clinical strategy and quality improvement. Evaluate the effectiveness of the clinical quality strategy and recommend adjustments when needed to drive outcomes.
Lead and take full ownership for cross functional work to support enterprise quality measurement activities
Serve as data/analytical liaison between CS&Q and enterprise around quality measurement. Influence senior decision-makers at Humana on opportunities to improve clinical quality in order to drive health outcomes, lower costs, and improve experience for members, providers and associates. Communicate strategic insights to leaders at all levels, including management team.
Conduct research, environmental scans, organizational positioning analyses and other studies. Prepare technical and financial information for briefings, presentations, and status reports.
Identify subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret, and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis. Work with the academic and business community to advance development of new quality measurement strategies.
Exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues, advises and makes recommendations to senior leaders on matters of significance relating to quality, and works under minimal supervision.
Work closely with associates and senior leaders across the enterprise to solicit input, guide data-backed problem solving, and make recommendations to advance the clinical quality strategy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
8 or more years of experience data analysis, developing, applying, or using quality measures in healthcare settings
Extensive experience with SAS and/or SQL
Strong knowledge and experience with quality and process improvement
Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
Proficiency in compiling, analyzing and interpreting healthcare related data trends
Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs
Experience working in the healthcare industry
Strong communication skills both verbal and written and proven presentation skills (comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization)
Desired Qualifications
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or related field
Additional Python, Hadoop and R
Knowledge of Humana's networks, clinical and business analytics and policy levers
Excellent project management skills and experience leading the execution of large scale initiatives
Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
