Manager Channel Development – K-12
Summary:
As a member of the Foodservice Channel Development Team this position is primarily responsible for developing and supporting the portfolio strategy for multiple product categories for the K-12 Segment. This includes alignment across the Prepared and Poultry business units on key focus items/categories, portfolio attributes and portfolio bidding strategies. Team member will become the K-12 product portfolio expert and will focus on driving increased volume through the K-12 segment by providing the optimal product portfolio, messaging, and key strategic initiatives.
Essential duties responsibilities include:
Assist in the development of annual and long-term strategic channel plans, with an emphasis on ownership of product-specific activities
Develop strategic and tactical solutions across all brands/categories to include driving sales of and developing the national branded focus product strategies across each while delivering against the operating plan
Drive K-12 sales by utilizing insights, trends, customer feedback, sales input and/or competitive intelligence to be an active contributor in developing the product portfolio innovation platform, identifying next generation portfolio attributes and portfolio optimization/rationalization recommendations
Accountable for cross functional meetings with the business units, innovation, and R&D to gain alignment on product activities and initiatives
Be the K-12 product, nutritional and regulation expert and own the creation and maintenance of product portfolio tools and resources utilized by sales team and customers
Accountable for the development and maintenance of all product training materials, product sales tools, product marketing messaging and reasons to buy
Responsible for keeping K-12 product info on TFS website current
Works closely with Sales, Strategy & Execution to provide product/portfolio support to the K-12 Sales team
Build and maintain communication tools used to keep the sales team informed of ongoing portfolio updates and business or market changes
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or other related discipline; MBA preferred.
Experience: 5 years of experience in foodservice/retail marketing. K-12 experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop and manage organizations and build high performance teams; project management skills; experience in developing and executing strategic plans; holistic view on business financial acumen focus on growing top and bottom line; experience leading and working cross-functionally; proven experience working collaboratively with sales team and external customers to drive business results; strong focus on customer including consumer and customer needs; inclusive leverages diverse inputs and talents.
Travel: 4-7 trips per year.
