Job Description:
What’s the role?

This new role, Market Risk Project Manager, will report to the Market Risk Transformation Lead and is critical to our efforts. The Project Manager will oversee enhancements and investments intended to improve the tools and analytics available to our risk managers, enabling them to understand, measure, and monitor the risks in each of the trading portfolios. These projects will also allow Market Risk to provide objective value-added advice and guidance to the organization.

Ensure that project administration will be tailored for the scope and complexity of the project, not “one size fits all”. Generally, this administration accountability will include ensuring projects stay on track and on budget and will cover scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources
Support the transition of activity between various regional and functional teams within Market Risk and the continued definition of ways of working and RACI matrices
Identify opportunities for the automation of day-to-day activity as well as tasks which have the potential to be moved to Offshore Operations
Provide advice and guidance to the First Line of Defense (Commercial) teams on the implementation of market risk capabilities and help support the Risk Taskforce on market risk-related projects e.g., Front Office Control Enhancements
Help support development of the Market Risk IPP together with the multi-year roadmap for investment in systems and technology
Work closely with Transformation Change and Engage lead to ensure robust communication and socialization of Market Risk projects with all stakeholders
Scope
This role supports Market Risk’s global footprint. Business stakeholders are primarily located in T&S hubs in London, Houston, Rotterdam, Dubai and Singapore.
What experience and technical requirements do we need from you?
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics or Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred
Experience as a Market Risk practitioner, preferably in an energy trading environment, including deep understanding of the standard suite of market risk metrics and analytical tools
Experience in leading projects using a variety of methodologies, e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban
Experience in project planning and using tools such as Azure Dev Ops
Experience automating manual processes
Experience with build vs buy decision making process as well as experience with both kinds of solutions
Knowledge of best practices for data ownership, management, and governance
Experience interfacing with IT stakeholders to ensure successful project development and hosting
Experience decommissioning unused applications/processes/reports
Interest/curiosity for new technology (AI, blockchain, et al)
