Midstream Performance Analyst
What is the role
This role is in a fast-paced team environment supporting the needs of the Midstream business. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded finance professional, with skills in forecasting, identifying contractual risk, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements, performing modelling and financial forecasting, and applying risk management techniques. Should have a strong understanding of accounting, including different methods of accounting for Joint Ventures (cost method, equity method, and consolidation).
And also, successful candidate will have experience as a strong business support and illustrated competence in business performance improvement in a large, complex business environment, handling multiple interfaces at operational through VP level.
More specifically, your key accountabilities include:
Develop and deliver commercially insightful analysis and appraisal of Midstream business results. Responsible for coordinating the business plan and monthly Latest Estimate (LE)/forecasts across multiple Business Units and coordinating with the Planning & Reporting team in Finance Operations.
Stay abreast of business activity and accounting activity as it relates to the Midstream business and ensure the plans/forecasts make sense considering business changes. Ensure trends are understood and can be explained.
Develop timelines, communicate expectations, and coordinate analysis across multiple business units for Monthly financial reporting package. Understand and challenge the key drivers behind the business results, ensuring can not only explain the results but what caused the results.
Challenge Finance in the Business (FiB) and Business colleagues on assumptions, ensuring a robust forecast that reflects proven probable.
Assist with forecasting by building or enhancing SAP Analytic Cloud (SAC) reports on behalf of the Business.
Assist FiB on several Midstream assets, ensuring that risks are integrated into the full valuation model and risk discussion supporting the business decision making for the specific opportunity involved with support from team lead for moderately complex activities.
Work on various finance, business strategy or other opportunities across multiple activities/assets and are not dedicated to a specific activity or asset. The work they perform will change over time and be prioritized based on value and risk, and professional development.
Other special projects, as needed.
Requirements
What we need from you –
You must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Candidate must have a minimum 5 years of experience Oil and Gas, Energy, or any work-related industries.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university, and an MBA is a plus.
CPA or an equivalent accounting certification is preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of financial statements, valuation models, and forecasts.
Systems experience and knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAC, and Power BI are preferable.
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
