What’s the role?
As Senior Commercial Finance Advisor, you will coordinate the delivery of Finance support (including tax, treasury, accounting and structuring) to the Business Team for Shell’s Rhineland Refinery and the Joint Venture (JV) Team for the German Manufacturing JVs which are responsible for the commercial management of the Shell Manufacturing assets in Germany.
In this role, you will support the business in price exposure management and controls. You will also assist in identifying drivers for crude/feedstock optimization decisions, and their impact on working capital.
Your experience and knowledge will be critical in managing the financial aspects of Shell’s new business opportunities while ensuring market risks are understood and adequately reflected.
Furthermore, you are expected to bring new proposals of high value activities and actively look for opportunities to reduce non-value adding Finance activities

What we need from you?
We’re keen to hear from individuals who have a bachelor’s or master’s degree preferably in finance or any related degree. Beyond that, we’d want to hear from individuals who have the following:
Expertise across the spectrum of Finance competences.
Ability to gain the confidence of various internal and external parties building on strong knowledge and understanding of the business drivers, value and risk.
Maturity and authority to decide when to involve specialists and effectively play the independent Finance role.
Problem solving mindset with the courage to ensure professional financial rigor is applied to commercial decision-making process and risk management bringing analytics and insights to the table.
Project management skills and flexibility given the support across multiple activities/assets.
Ability to rapidly understand the specific business or function context for which activities in the pool concept are linked to.
