OverviewnAssigned to a Line of Business (LOB)*, the Adjuster III is responsible for prompt review of insurance claims through effective research, evaluation, investigation, negotiation and interaction with insureds and claimants. The Adjuster I is often, assigned to least complex, severe and/or smaller claims in the Line of Business. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrustu2019s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust and Claims organization.nResponsibilitiesnn Investigates the claim or coverage by making timely and appropriate contact with involved or interested parties including but not limited to the insured or employer representatives, claimant, witnesses and producers. n Verifies coverage and policy conditions. Reviewed coverage issues as needed with supervisor. Typically utilized standardized language to draft positions if needed.n Depending on the type of claim may interact internally with Subrogation, Managed Care or SIU or externally with police or others to get information.n Establishes reserves based on estimating most likely outcome of a claim based on the facts for the case and company standard. Adjust reserves based on fact, company standard and experience. n Effectively settles and negotiates non-litigated claims. n Builds critical thinking and decision-making skills to gather, assess, analyze, question, verify, interpret and understand key or root issues.n Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their respect and trust. n Demonstrates ability to learn technical materials and learns from mistakes in order to achieve best possible outcomes for claimant, customer and company.n Writes in a clear, succinct and fact-based manner in Claims files as well as in other communication. n Manages time and diary entries effective and efficiently, prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment. n Performs other functional duties as assigned.nnQualificationsnRequired:nn Bacheloru2019s degree or equivalent experiencen State licensure as requiredn 1-3 years claims handling experiencen Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suitesn Demonstrated skills in investigation, evaluation and negotiationn Knowledge of insurance theory and practicesnnPreferred: nn Knowledge of Commercial Auto , Garage Keepers, and total loss experience n Ability to travel is required for some positionsnn nLine of Business: APDnLOB DescriptionnClaims Adjuster I is responsible for handling Auto Physical Damage (APD) claims including, but not limited to effective claim investigation, coverage analysis, damage evaluation, proactive claim action planning, negotiation and resolution. The adjuster is responsible for medium to complex claims involving multiple parties, liability decisions, jurisdictional statutes, and additional exposures. Will also assist in any litigated files and arbitration hearings.n n nUnique Responsibilities:nn n Gather information and documentation such as witness statements, police and location investigation, photographs, appraisals/estimates of damagesn Determine the appropriate appraisal channel to utilize based on the facts of the casen Calculate the number of rental days needed and work with repair and rental facilities to manage the amount of timen Understand and comply with state requirements with written/oral communication, liability, and the rules of the roadn Determine when a vehicle is a total loss and ensure successful transition to Total Loss team after securing pertinent informationn Coordinate with Core claim handling team on claims involving property damage and bodily injuryn May handle specialty areas such as Garagekeepersu2019 and Inland Marine claimsn Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new hiresn nn nUnique Minimum Qualifications:nn n 3 years of commercial auto experience, working with the auto repair process, auto damage appraisals, and vehicle valuations.
