Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage team of people responsible for Aviation System’s billing and collections across sites/regions and the I2C wing to wing process, ensuring collaboration and connectivity between both functions
Manage third-party collections team, collaborating to ensure proper tools, communication and follow up with customers is successful and targets are met, escalating as needed
Drive strong operational partnership across the Commercial organization to ensure we are working to improve the overall customer account operations and billing and collections rigor
Lead forecasting, billing and collection initiatives driving down past dues, overall disputes and ultimately improving working capital (cash linearity and DSO)
Provide robust reporting of Billing & A/R analytics to support strategic and day-to-day operations
Define and execute on the assigned P&L strategy through set objectives and targets as per scope along with opportunities for ways to further enhance cash collections
Monitor performance through standard work and MORs to address resolution of main drivers across the Invoice to Cash process through regular escalation, root cause resolution, training and process improvement opportunities
Supervise daily activities and maximize efforts of staff in their collection efforts on accounts receivable, with special emphasis on delinquent accounts, and Billing effectiveness in regards to timeliness and accuracy
Lead others to find creative solutions to address complex problems that may impact the organization.
Communicate complex messages and negotiate internally to adopt a different point of view and influences peers to take action
Analyze and assess credit and collection issues falling outside Company policies and guidelines and determines course of action for resolution
Lead and develop a world class billing and collections team, driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability and ability to coach and grow the team
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in Finance)
6 years experience in increasing roles of responsibility in Finance or Accounting
A deep understanding of both billing and collections processes and how they impact each other
Experience driving teams to meeting targets while delivering thoughtful leadership
Desired Characteristics
Multiple years of related/relevant work experience (AR, ITO, OTR, customer fulfillment)
Strong knowledge of the Accounts Receivable function and ERP systems
Strong sense of ownership and ability to work effectively across organizations and departments to lead the completion of deliverables
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities, as well as cultivate long-term relationships at all levels of customer organization.
Proven track record of reducing past due receivables and improving other receivables metrics along with knowledge of accounts receivables techniques and export procedures
Must be able to accommodate time zone differences due to cooperation with international teams across the globe
Ability to influence and build consensus with other teams and leadership
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze, identify root causes and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
