Job Description:
The Commercial Finance Advisor will support the Energy & Chemical Parks Rotterdam and Moerdijk with improving the cash generating capacity & competitiveness of the two sites. You will also be a key player in delivering upon the Energy Transition strategies of these businesses.
We are committed to supporting flexible working arrangements where feasible, and subject to applicable policy, regulations, and legislative frameworks. If appropriate, please make clear in your application the type of flexible working arrangements for which you would like to be considered.
Where you fit in?
Shell’s Pernis & Moerdijk sites are pivotal assets in Shell’s Powering Progress and the move to 5 Energy & Chemical parks and a number of Chemical growth platforms globally. The Energy & Chemicals Park Rotterdam, also known as Shell Pernis, is the largest refinery in Europe across the industry. It derives a significant part of its value from its close integration with the Trading and Chemicals businesses and it being in one of the largest petrochemical trading hubs in the world with significant flexibility. The Chemicals Park Moerdijk is one of the biggest and most advanced Chemical plants in Europe. It will function as a platform for growth in Shell’s Energy Transition. Both sites are flagship assets in Shell
Pernis is expected to return significant cash from its existing business while at the same time it’s investing heavily in the Energy Transition (ET). The Energy & Chemicals Park Rotterdam has developed an ET strategy, the North Star, which aims to sharply reduce its CO2 emissions, prepare for changing customer demand and regulatory landscape, while remaining an economically attractive asset. The North Star defines 4 critical new value chains in which it wants to grow significantly: Low Carbon Fuels, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage, Green & Blue Hydrogen, Low Carbon & Circular Chemicals. The construction of the bio-plant plant to produce bio-products and the investment decision on the Carbon Capture Storage project Porthos are showing tangible proof points of this strategy.
Moerdijk’s growth strategy and Energy Transition focus on more performance & circular chemicals and chemicals from waste feedstocks. The announcement of the investment decisions on more efficient furnaces and on a Waste-to-Plastics plant are proof points of Moerdijk’s Transformation.
This role reports into the Finance Manager Pernis. You will be part of the pool of Pernis/Moerdijk Finance Advisors.
