Description

The Market Finance Lead analyzes and reports on market financial data and key performance metrics for Medicare Advantage plans in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware. Works closely with market leadership team and internal/external partners to drive strong financial results, connecting operational effectiveness with financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

The Market Finance Lead works with Actuary, MRA, Corporate Finance, Clinical and Market Point internally and Providers/Hospitals/Ancillary externally to drive optimization inclusive of activities spanning decisions required for day-to-day operations to strategic planning and addressing specific business performance issues across matrixed organization and fostering key relationships with business stakeholders. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.


Analyzes and reports on regional P&L and key performance metrics and research financial performance variances to budget
Supports regional CMS MAPD plan bid process
Leads regional P&L budget setting process
Leads Local Market Trend Committee Meetings to support regional leadership
Advises market leadership on cost savings initiatives and performance variances and help devise tactics to increase savings or mitigate risks
Creates monthly summary KPI reporting for Market President and RVPO
Drives leadership presentation creation for Finance team
Represents the region on various corporate meetings and committees

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations, Economics, Math, Statistics, MIS, Informatics, or a related field (Strong quantitative background preferred)
5 years of accounting, finance, and/or medical economics experience
Database (core concepts) and querying (SQL) knowledge, and advanced data analysis and analytical visualization skills
Polished professional presentation skills and the ability to influence key decision makers through data driven insights and creative, simple, and powerful data visualization
Experience advising senior leadership on financial and/or medical economics strategies
Microsoft Excel: PivotTables, VLookups, Charts/Graphs, Tool building
Microsoft PowerPoint: Presentation (deck) building
Knowledge of complex accounting and financial transactions and reports used for internal and external reporting
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


Prior programming and/or building dashboards/tools using SAS, SQL Server, Oracle, Tableau, Power BI, and/or other data processing and visualization tools
Familiarity with Medicare Advantage program, risk adjustment, and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Shared Savings program


Additional Information

This role will be Work at Home within distance of the offices of either the Richmond, VA or Cary, NC locations

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
