They will also verify third party payer transactions, reconcile wholesale and direct purchase histories related to dispensing and retail sales activities. Additionally they will be responsible for performing collection activities, applying electronic price updates, reconciling retail pricing and participating in coding related to accounts payable. This position will also assist in budget planning and month end reporting, and work closely with the financial analyst and corporate accountant to perform analyses and reporting. This position will manage the business associate positions at the Community Pharmacy Business Office, generally 3 to 4 employees. Key Responsibilities Include: Oversees the reconciliation of cash receipts to daily cash sales and bank deposit. Assure reconciliation of credit card transactions daily. Manages verification of third party payer remittances to ensure correct billing for prescriptions dispensed. Manages work with third party payers in processing billings and resolving collection issues. Oversees research and resolution of aged accounts receivable according to established policy and procedure. Assure work in the Business Offices for cohesiveness and cooperation to facilitate Pharmacy operations and Pharmacy’s interactions with other departments. Manages preparation of monthly reports and works closely with Financial Specialist and Corporate Accountant to assure accurate and timely month end close. Assures routine audits of medication databases to verify accurate pricing for 340B and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) inventories. Reports discrepancies to Director, VP and Controller. Oversees audits of capturing of patient signatures. Reports discrepancies to Director. Required Experience: Minimum of three years experience in pharmacy or healthcare setting, preferably retail, with experience in business and accounting activities required. Prior management or leadership experience preferred. You will get our immediate attention if you possess the following skills: Thorough knowledge of Community pharmacy processes including dispensing and operational activities. Excellent skills in balancing cash receipts, preparing bank deposits, working with insurance remittance advices, ability to identify discrepancies, and perform other business support including but not limited to; electronic pricing updates, retail pricing reconciliation, and accounts payable invoice coding, as needed. Involvement in operational budget process. Understanding and experience in third party medication billing including but not limited to managed care, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetic, Orthotic Supplies (DMEPOS), National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), and self pay. Understanding and management of 340B Drug Discount Programming Contract Pharmacy Account for payable and receivable activity.
