Guild Group’s Finance team partners with our core business units; Guild Insurance, Acerta, Meridian Lawyers and Guild Trustee Services. We are responsive, agile, and always seeking ways to make our finance support value-adding and forward-looking. Reporting to the Financial Controller and based in Melbourne, your new role will provide strong technical accounting and financial control support to the Insurance business including reinsurance accounting, statutory reporting and technical compliance. Regulatory requirements and contractual requirements with external partners will also form a part of this highly visible role. We’ll give you all the training and support you need to learn this.

Working closely with the Insurance and Finance teams, you will:
Prepare Quota Share reporting in relation to all partnerships.
Prepare all Agency and Broker commission-related reporting and reconciliations.
Provide all Reinsurance accounting support including reporting, reconciliations and responding to queries.
Prepare all Broker/Referral fee-related requirements including reporting, reconciliations and responding to queries
Support the reconciliation of queries in relation to the Outstanding Claims Liability Provision.
Liaise with external Actuaries in relation to insurance claims and recoveries queries and information requests.
Liaise with external and internal Auditors teams.
Support Guild Insurance monthly and quarterly reporting including capital reporting.
Be the primary accounting lead in the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss reports (incl commentary) and Balance Sheet reporting and reconciliations for our Guild Early Learning joint venture entity.
Hands-on support of the quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliations
Provide process review insights and continuous improvement advice for our Insurance accounting processes
Tax Risk Management – provide support on tax planning insights and risk mitigation strategies.
Support the preparation of quarterly tax calculations for the Group’s individual
About You
You have a hunger and willingness to learn something new and have probably started your career working for one of the accountancy firms, you’ve probably had a couple of years in industry and now seek a role that will offer you something new and a career pathway. You are now
