Job Title:

Corporate Finance Professional

No. of Positions:

1

Job Description:

If you're a corporate finance professional with 3-5 years’ experience, we can offer you the chance to work at the heart of the finance team in one of the world’s largest corporations.

What’s the role?

You’ll be part of the Shell Treasury Corporate Finance team, based in London, focussing on the strategic aspects of Group Treasury.

Our team tackles complex problems in original ways. The team has ownership and accountability for the Group corporate structure, corporate finance strategic and policy agenda and management of external banking and investment banking relationships. The team leads the interface with the external debt capital markets and also participates in designing the Group’s equity story for shareholders. We thrive on working smart not hard, and always look for opportunities to influence the company’s overall capital structure and/or business plan.

Within Corporate Finance, we’ll be looking to you to share your expertise and experience on all areas of corporate finance for a range of international challenges. Working both independently, yet as an integral part of a team, you’ll develop collaborative relationships with a range of senior stakeholders, including those close to and at Executive Committee level. You will have the opportunity to manage or participate in cross-function/cross-business projects with both Shell and external participants.

The key activities are varied and include:

Strategic corporate finance considerations such as valuation, capital structure, allocation of capital, WACC, leases and cost of capital
Supporting or making presentations for senior management teams
Evaluation of business plan materials in the context of potential funding requirements, credit ratings shareholder distributions and the Group’s overall financial strategy
Execution in the debt and equity capital markets
Involvement in Shell group level projects, such as M&A transactions.
Analytical support for decision making concerning the financial strategy
Recommendations for funding in the context of Group business plan materials
Support for Intra-Group funding planning and decision-making
Participation in evaluation and development of Shell’s equity story
Regular interactions with investment banks, corporate bankers, credit rating agencies, debt and equity capital markets
Frequent use of Bloomberg to support internal decision making

Expect lots of support and encouragement while you're here. You'll be working alongside people who love what they do and enjoy sharing their enthusiasm with everyone around them.

We value career growth. You'll have limitless opportunities to explore both in terms of function and geography - whether that means building up new areas of expertise within Finance, including for example within M&A or structured finance, or taking your career in a different direction in the wider Shell Group.
