DEPT: Finance
Under the general direction of the Assistant Finance Director, this is a highly responsible and technical position, tasked with overseeing, reviewing and coordinating projects that affect the Finance Department. This includes, but is not limited to, projects pertaining to the general ledger/balance sheet, revenues, expenses, payroll and Utility Billing functions, as well as capital projects, and obtaining new software for the City of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Knowledge of accounting terms and processes
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Ability to work in, and understand the accounting detail of more than one area within the Finance Department, as needed.
Ability to exhibit an exceptional learning capacity.
Ability to use equipment and supplies in a safe and economical manner.
Ability to plan, organize, and/or prioritize daily assignments and work activities, and complete work assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
Ability to provide professional, punctual, and courteous service to the public, and deal with adversarial situations tactfully and firmly while striving to maintain a spirit of cooperation and problem solving.
Ability to display patience under difficult and stressful conditions.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to plan and perform duties independently while exercising good judgment and initiative.

Training, Certification, and Experience
Prefer four-year degree/certification in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Prefer a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in governmental accounting.
Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in local, state, and federal grants and project administration.
Prefer candidate that has obtained training, either through college courses or work experience, with information technology functionalities.
An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specific requirements may be substituted.
Valid Drivers’ License with acceptable driving record.
Proof of the following NIMS/FEMA certifications will obtain preference (must be completed within the first 2 years of employment)
*ICS-100, *ICS-200, *ICS-300, * ICS-700
Special Requirements
Valid Florida Driver's License (if not currently held at time of hiring, must be obtained within 6 months)
