Role Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to execute and deliver the responsibilities related to IAS 37 - Provisions, Contingent Liabilities and Contingent Assets provisions related to measurement of reimbursement right asset for Collateralized Loan Obligations.
Role Context
This is a new role and the role holder will need to show strong engagement and collaboration to deliver and embed change in a highly complex area
Most activities encountered by the incumbent are non-repetitive in nature. Therefore, the incumbent needs to adapt to changes readily. The role holder must have an inquisitive mind and be able to show initiative in an unstructured environment.
Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision-making areas
Impact on the Business
Perform a comprehensive review of and document existing process, structure, system and data related to end-to-end recognition of Collateralized Loan Obligations and identify areas of gaps
Perform the periodic calculation of reimbursement right asset for Collateralized Loan Obligations, including sourcing relevant data, reviewing/validating data, treating data inconsistencies, performing calculation and sharing results with relevant Finance teams
Create quarterly runbook for reimbursement right asset calculation process and share/agree with Finance and Risk stakeholders
Author and manage methodology and approach document
Keep informed of changes that trigger revision to the approach and process and propose/deliver necessary changes
Manage the governance process with Finance and Risk and prepare required materials
Manage the Reimbursement Right Asset calculator, ensure compliance with internal policies and perform relevant model risk controls
Work with Wholesale Portfolio Management and other key stakeholders to set up the processes, methodology and approach for future CLOs that will fall under the scope of IAS 37
Customers / Stakeholders
Liaise with relevant stakeholders within Global Businesses and Global Functions (e.g. Accounting Policy, Wholesale Credit Risk, Finance, Operational Accounting, Impairment Production and Analytics Center, Global Risk Analytics) and be a key point of contract to respond to queries
Actively participate in and contribute to working groups related to area of responsibility
Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

Operational Effectiveness & Control
Implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Global Business Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators
Ensure the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and regulators, as related to CMB
Ensure all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), sanctions and reputational risks

Delivering efficient and effective solutions within a large and complex organization and in accordance with strict timelines despite several dependencies on stakeholders, data, systems and other processes

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Minimum bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business or related field
Relevant and proven experience with developing and/or using financial and accounting tools for measurement of balance sheet and/or income statement items
Preferably working knowledge of financial disclosure (i.e. IFRS 9, IAS 37 etc.) requirements
Preferably working knowledge of Collateralized Loan Obligations and their accounting treatment
Ability to influence various stakeholders across the organization to bring structure to complex processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of preparing comprehensive materials and communicating key messages and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders
The ability to work at pace and meet demands on time
Strong influencing, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Strong planning and problem-solving skills
Result oriented and team player who can foster strong and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders
