This role has the responsibility to support EU markets in the development and implementation of electric vehicle (EV) charging business models at destination charging locations (e.g. supermarkets, restaurants, shopping centres) to enable the expansion of the Shell Recharge network on to their locations.
Shell Mobility is committed to providing customers with the simplest, easiest and most convenient EV charging experience. It is critical that the new EV charging opportunities combine the right locations, charging hardware and software as well as marketing support and digital integration to provide a winning customer offer. In addition to supporting markets in assessing, designing and implementing charging beyond the forecourt, the role will have a strong commercial focus to ensure profitable delivery models that accelerate Mobility’s EV portfolio expansion and meet required investment criteria.
This is an exciting & demanding role to expand Shell’s ability to power mobility, strengthen Shell’s EV charging business and contribute to Shell Group’s net carbon footprint ambition.
What’s the role?
This role has the responsibility to support EU markets in the development of Destination pipeline partners through facilitating Strategic Real Estate external partner/Agent (L2) opportunities and accelerate implementation to achieve an optimal Destination EV Network by market. The role will also focus on L2 partnership capability to accelerate Mobility Hub acquisition and development
Reporting to the Global Mobility Real Estate Manager:
Support markets in facilitating engagements with potential location partners through Real Estate partnerships (External & internal) to develop a pipeline of opportunities for the Destination and Hub portfolios
Working with Contract & Procurement to support EU markets in negotiating and agreeing L2 partnership fees for introduction, deal making and property management of Destination locations where required by market
EU Market pipeline tracking through the various stages of opportunity realisation: from initial assessment through to implementation & operation
Working with other members of the wider Mobility organization to identify and resolve bottlenecks and challenges for EU markets that may slow down pipeline development for Destination - specifically working with Global Network teams to identify opportunities to streamline and fast track development cycle time through L2 partnership delivery models
Working with local market Real Estate, Finance, Legal and other Network functions to ensure smooth implementation and management of the Destination and Hub portfolio in relation to ongoing operations with Destination Partners and Property Management
Collaborate with Regional E-Mobility, Global Network and Marketing E-mobility functions to define and create the relevant EVcharging offers for destination opportunities and cascade guidelines and handrails to markets
Propose & develop value add opportunities with Real Estate partners, to improve business models or otherwise bring more value from the partnership
You will work extensively with EU Mobility local and regional market teams to ensure pipeline development and implementation of Destination locations:
Network planning: Multi Year Planning development, Destination Charge Post target setting
E-Mobility Business D ev elopment: Pipeline management and Business Model selection that can be managed in Real Estate systems
Engineering: site design, permitting, grid requirements and hardware availability
Real estate: L2 Partnership development, contract management, Property Management
A successful candidate will have:
Excellent stakeholder management skills: comfortable managing both external relationships & large range of internal stakeholders to successfully support the delivery of EV Destination charging opportunities
A strong commercial acumen: being comfortable with complex business models and deal structures in what is a new commercial business for Shell
Well-developed project & opportunity management skills. Being able to lead and drive work across multiple workstreams to ensure the successful delivery of an opportunity across its lifecycle.
A customer centric mindset, ensuring that our network serves the needs of all (B2C & B2B) customers
A passion for the energy transition, and to help Shell to serve the customers of the future
What we need from you
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Previous EV Portfolio development or management
Proven commercial experience and business development roles
Strong track record in delivering commercial opportunities and in managing complex projects
Fluent in English
Highly numerate & comfortable with Excel & PowerPoint
Comfortable in-front of suppliers/partners
Excellent interpersonal & stakeholder management skills
Energy, flexibility and self-starter mentality
