The individual in this role will have responsibility for managing the portfolio management process for the Coronary & RDN Global New product Development Portfolio. This role is responsible for managing the processes for strategic planning, governance, and investment management for the Global CRDN New Product Development portfolio. The candidate must have expertise in Strategic planning, Financial planning or Investment management, Portfolio management, Portfolio governance processes, and Project management.

**A Day in The Life Of:**
Develops and manages framework for continued assessment of the CRDN New Product Development (NPD) portfolio, facilitating the prioritization of opportunities and driving the performance of the NPD portfolio.
Change Leader for the integration of Portfolio management process as standard work practice for the OU leadership staff and leads collaboration with senior executives to design ongoing portfolio reporting by business area, up to the Operating Unit President.
Lead Global CRDN NPD Governance process within the CRDN OU for Research & Technology, Product Development and Release Product Management portfolios, to assess and approve NPD spend, guide investments processes, and manage and track spend/investment progress.
Lead annual finance scenario planning process for Global NPD inclusive of gathering project requests, assessing strategic alignment, developing recommendations, and providing guidance to team members on case development, as needed
Contribute to the establishment of a common set of practices, tools, and templates for project and portfolio management and oversees the implementation of CRDNs new PPM solution. Champion continuous improvement initiatives in portfolio management capability
Define and assess KPIs showing the performance of the portfolio and use metrics and data visualization to report progress and support data-driven decision-making at the organization level
Escalate issues that threaten portfolio success
Partners with key business stakeholders, including CRDN Operating Unit Functional leaders, to provide visibility into overall portfolio performance and serves as trusted advisor on transformation programs and intended benefits
Develop models for near-long term portfolio planning and forecasting of financial spend over x (Year/month) horizons
Responsible for portfolio data quality and implementing data validation to ensure a high level of precision in portfolio reporting
Work with stakeholders to create a roadmap for future development aligned and prioritized to deliver the CRDN strategic objectives. Provide guidance and counsel in the development of long-range plans involving strategy development, resource allocation, work plans, timelines, and financial outcomes
Manage the process for portfolio project, finance, resource capacity and allocation forecasting, inclusive of internal and external resources, ensuring robust scenario planning engagement with relevant stakeholders
Provides the strategic framework to develop group goals that will cascade from the top and supports the business to achieve these goals
Influence PMO functional initiatives/PMO assignments, ensuring consistent project & portfolio management processes with Medtronics APM process and the optimization of PM practices to broaden and enable more analytical and predictive PMO capabilities in the future.
Lead and maintain the processes to support the senior management, governance bodies, and functions in the continual improvement of performance and productivity through proactive data analysis (historical and forecasted, internal and benchmark).
Support and lead cross-functional teams in preparation for portfolio reviews and governance body reviews.
Interface with all relevant stakeholders on key portfolio updates, priorities, strategies, and portfolio changes.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to work with team members across functions and geographies and at all levels through an open, engaging, and collaborative style.
Skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and performing simultaneous projects and activities.
Demonstrated talent to quickly assess situations, identify problems, and offer clear and concise plans to resolve them.
Confirmed capability to work well under pressure and to adapt quickly to change.
**Key Skills & Experience**
**B.S Degree:** 15 years of experience in engineering, Science, or related business leadership role with at least 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity
**M.S. Degree:** 10 years of experience in engineering, Science, or related business leadership role with at least 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity
**Ph.D. Degree:** 7 years of experience in engineering, Science or related business leadership role with at least 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity
5 years of experience in portfolio management, portfolio performance analytics, resource planning/utilization, financial analysis/budgeting in collaboration with leadership
Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple job areas, and detailed functional expertise
Strong understanding of stakeholder management; budget management and risk management
Demonstrated opportunity and ability to influence senior management
Demonstrated ability and experience in Portfolio Management
Experience developing and managing business case life cycle management including pressure testing outcomes with key business owners and managing progress, risks / mitigations, and execution
Experience effectively facilitating robust strategic planning processes, including developing compelling roadmaps, effectively driving cross-functional leadership forums to gain alignment on priorities / goals, and collaborating with business partners to measure progress
Experience collaborating cross-functionally in a matrix structure and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Experience assessing a portfolio identifying and evaluating cross-functional-dependencies and value acceleration opportunities
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes
