Profile

Summary/Objective
The purpose of this role is to support the International Director and Manager in the planning and execution of International Inbound (container) deliveries from Origin through Destination ports, and ultimately to Bob's DC locations, while providing accurate communications to internal and external customers and partners.


Bob's Inbound Logistics Function imports ~35,000 containers annually from 10 Countries and dozens of origin ports of loading to satisfy demand though our DC network. This position will ensure continuity of service to the business and to create an environment of continuous improvement within the import logistics team.



Job Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day planning and execution of the international freight bookings and freight movements with origin vendors, p.o. management company and ocean carriers to ensure timely and compliant delivery of product into the USA
Respond to inquiries and requests from the replenishment/forecasting department, merchandising, and the vendor community to ensure visible, smooth, cost-effective container flow, and as needed, exception management resolution
Resolve issues with shipping lines, ports, and container freight stations and carriers and escalate to International Manager as warranted
Coordinate and maintain department reporting/KPIs in an accurate, concise and timely manner
Support the annual RFQ Ocean Freight through data collection and various analysis
Complete analysis, reporting, projects and duties to support the department as assigned by the Inbound management team
Track seasonal and promotional shipments as needed, Provide updates to other departments to ensure prioritized delivery of shipments

Work Environment
The role is based in the BDF headquarters. Standard corporate office environment applies.



Physical Demands
The role is considered an office based desk job with focus on both computer and phone usage.



Expected Hours of Work and Travel
The role is designed as 40 hours weekly however flexibility in work hours is required to support the international aspect of the role and to meet the fluctuations of workload and/or projects. At times late night and/or early morning conference calls with Asia Control Towers are expected to occur.



Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, finance or related field or equivalent work experience ( 2 to 3 years of logistics related work experience for non-bachelor degree holders)
