Meet Urban Impact Foundation:
Pastor Ed Glover founded Urban Impact Foundation in 1995 to help address the profound and unique challenges facing today’s urban communities, which he witnessed first-hand every day for over nine years as a resident of Pittsburgh’s North Side and pastor at Allegheny Center Alliance Church. During this time, Pastor Glover recognized that the trials of children and families in urban communities could only be effectively addressed through holistic development of the mind, body, and spirit through Christ– one person, one family, one block at a time. Thus, Urban Impact was born!
About the Director of Finance:
The Director of Finance is responsible for the management and training of financial and program staff while working strategically with the Business Management Team. This candidate is a true leader with a passion for the well-being of the community and organization. They will essentially act as the overseer of the financial operations within the Urban Impact Foundation.
The Director of Finance Responsibilities Include:
Leadership and Management
Oversee all finance staff.
Interface with program directors and program staff.
Interface with strategic partners for the organization (i.e. ACAC).
Ensure the organization is in full legal compliance.
Participate or provide direction on new initiatives that can help the ministry business model and provide sustainability to the organization.
Enforce existing processes and procedures approved by the board and Business Management Team and participate or provide direction on new processes that are needed for the organization.
Advise leadership (President, Board, BMT, Directors) on how to maintain the long-term sustainability of the organization – defend and improve business models supporting the ministry's needs.
Maintain the integrity of the financial control systems, books, records.
Support Development and Program with financial reporting, grants, proposals to support grant-making operations.
Process and report all gifts with integrity and timeliness.
Investigate and initiate project proposals to improve the efficiency of the organization – cost reductions; revenue improvements.
Identify and evaluate non-contributed sources of revenue.
Prepare and administer overall organizational budget – 4+ million dollars.
Produce timely internal reports on budget status.
Handle audits and external reporting.
Provide accountability of individual department budgets.
Monitor UM support raising.
Oversee the following personnel and financial functions:
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
Internal Financial Control System.
Gift processing.
Insurance.
Manage cash and investments.
Scholarship fund for students.
What You Bring:
Education & Experience
10+ years of experience in a relevant field is required.
An Undergraduate degree relevant to this role is required.
An MBA is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Efficient decision-making skills.
Proven leadership skills.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
