Financial Risk Analyst
This role will be reporting to the Chief Risk Officer. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and analysing the areas of potential risk threatening the assets, returns and earning capacity or success of the organisation. As a financial Risk Analyst, you'll be a key member of our 2
nd
line of defense responsible for assessing risks to capital from credit, market and liquidity risks independent of the business.
The Risk function, as part of our 2
nd
line of defense, takes a risk-based approach to assess risk taking activities of primary owners in the business. This position requires a knowledgeable risk management professional with proficiency in evaluating capital risks, liquidity risks, market risk and credit risks in a financial institution. Characteristics of a successful candidate include holding credentials in finance and risk, strategic thinking capability, experience with regulatory interactions, and keen analytical skills with an eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the identification, measurement, monitoring, control and reporting of financial risks including market, liquidity and credit risk
Monitor limit compliance, participating in limit reviews and ensuring proper escalation procedures in case of breach
Data preparation, calculation and analysis related to Stress testing and ICAAP process
Perform capital adequacy calculation
Monitor margin deficits, erroneous trades, significant net liquidation changes and other issues
Follow up on new regulatory request and group expectations
Perform risk assessment and strategic analysis of liquidity position and market risk levels
Preparing management report and strategic decisions making materials for senior management
Develop risk management policies and procedures, implement control mechanism
Prepare for and/or participate in discussions with regulatory authorities (MNB)
Qualification & Skills
At least 3 years’ experience in financial sector, including working in Risk Management, ALM or Treasury
University or college degree in finance, economics, or mathematics
Brokerage or Banking background would be considered as an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. A creative and innovative thinker.
Ability to run with workload and determine priorities.
Experience in working within MNB and relevant EU regulations
Strong IT competence and technology experience
