What We’re Looking For:
The SVP, Investor Relations position is responsible for developing, implementing and executing a comprehensive, global strategic investor relations program in compliance with corporate policies and securities regulations. This role serves as the primary contact to analysts, shareholders, and investment bankers, building and maintaining relationships to broaden investment interest in 2U.
Additionally, the role is responsible for advising senior leadership on all issues related to investor relations, capital allocation, and corporate development, while also providing strategic guidance on industry issues impacting the company and the investment community.
This role will be located in our HQ in Lanham, MD.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Collaborate with CEO, CFO, and senior leadership to develop and execute the overarching strategy supporting all external disclosures.
Serve in a strategic leadership capacity as it relates to financial media relations, including working with communications to ensure the strategic positioning of key investor messages, presenting at industry conferences, and conducting investor roadshows.
Responsible for development and maintenance of IR correspondence, materials and documentation including preparation and participation of quarterly earnings releases and financial news releases.
Responsible for strategic leadership and hands-on execution regarding development of information, schedules, displays and other materials for the Annual Shareholder meeting, investor days, road shows and other types of investment community meetings.
Responsible for special projects such as market sizing, corporate and business development, and competitive analysis.
Participate with the senior management team and outside counselors to assure adherence to SEC regulations and maintain compliance on financial reporting issues.
Collaborate with Corporate Communications, Financial Reporting and Legal teams to create favorable disclosures and consistent and accurate communications to all constituents.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related field; MBA with concentration in finance, business or other related field preferred
5-10 years of investor relations experience
Proven successful track record in developing and managing relationships with Wall Street, analysts and media
Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:
Strong analytical abilities; a solid foundation in corporate finance; a mastery of financial and investment terminology
Must have a clear and thorough understanding of the financial modeling techniques used by security analysts, along with outstanding financial and investment analysis skills
Excellent written communication skills and oral presentation ability required, as well as the ability to forge successful relationships with key internal and external partners
Demonstrated understanding and communication of complex business issues and market dynamics. Poised and persuasive with a high degree of confidence
Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with company executives, investors, analysts, and the media
