What's the role -
This is a finance position within Shell Midstream/Pipeline business, responsible for the accurate and timely filing of the regulatory reports to the regulatory agencies including but not limited to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), California Public Utility Commission, Louisiana Public Service Commission, Illinois Commerce Commission and Bureau of Economic Analysis. This individual will also provide support to Midstream finance team during non-peak periods in the areas of JV financial statement reviews & audits and finance support to projects and continuous improvement initiatives. As a member of the Shell Midstream Finance team, there are many growth and development opportunities to which the successful candidate will be exposed.
As a Finance Manager for Regulatory and Commercial you will have the following responsibilities -
Review and file regulatory reports with the regulatory agencies based upon target filling dates
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and related accounting standard changes within the regulatory reporting framework, and propose solutions as needed
Provide advice to the management team on the financial impact of any regulatory change
Assist in planning FERC team deliverable timelines around other closing requirements and review lead times to assure filing deadlines are met
Support internal and regulatory audits activities if any
Train Midstream finance staff on the FERC regulatory requirement and develop regulatory analyst
Maintain regulatory reporting procedures
Provide finance support to wider regulatory compliance program within Midstream
Retain repository of filings and supporting documentation
Work efficiently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders within the company.
Skills and Requirements
What we need from you -
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
5 years of professional level finance and/or accounting experience.
3 years of FERC/regulatory reporting experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze, review, make recommendations, while meeting the regulatory reporting deadlines.
The candidate will need to be a self-starter with a focus on continuous improvement
SAP S4 Hana experience is a plus but not required.
