What’s the role?
The Senior Structurer is a core part of the deal team responsible for creating unique financing and supply solutions for Energy Retail customers. This position will primarily engage with the East Retail Origination team with focus on the larger and/or more complex transactions. On any given opportunity, the Senior Structurer works closely with an East Retail Originator to analyze the Energy Retailer’s business plan, perform due diligence, model economics, negotiate commercial terms, gain internal support for pursuing the opportunity, and assist in drafting documents. Post-close, the Senior Structurer is responsible for maintaining the customer relationship and monitoring performance to ensure that Shell realizes a strong return on investment.
Senior Structurer would be responsible for assessing customer creditworthiness and financing needs and should be comfortable performing equity valuation using DCF analysis.
The role is customer facing and requires collaboration with various functions within Shell.
Accountabilities:
Actively contribute to collaboration and creativity across the commercial and functional teams.
Work with originators and traders to get the value creating deal as opposed to running the numbers.
Achieve strong external customer engagement while balancing the need to act in Shell’s best interest.
Identify opportunities and work with the team to drive greater consistency, enhanced competence, and improved efficiency.
Emphasis on integrating market and structured finance perspectives and skills into the development of commodity deal structures/solutions.
Structurers hold accountability for the accuracy and completeness of solutions that they have structured.

Requirements:
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum 7 years of experience in finance, corporate banking, investment management, or accounting experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a customer facing role.
Advanced Excel skills.
Financial modeling expertise .
Strong business acumen .
Derivative securities knowledge – Knowledge of derivative securities is critical to assess and value risk of complex energy deals.
Creativity – the Senior Structurer will be faced with diverse customer needs and will need to find unique solutions that work for the customer and for SENA.
Drive – the Senior Structurer is expected to be a self-starter who is continually seeking opportunities for value creation.
Knowledge of retail gas and/or power markets is preferred.
Familiarity with EEI, NAESB, Loan, Security, and Intercreditor agreements is a plus.
